    A Statement from the Highlands School District Regarding Alleged Hazing & Bullying

    The Highlands School District recently received information about alleged hazing and bullying in one of our athletic programs. Following board policies and procedures, the district immediately launched a thorough investigation. Highlands School District is committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for our students. Hazing, bullying, and any behavior threatening our students' physical or emotional safety will not be tolerated, and appropriate action will be taken for any founded claims. 
     
    The district wants to assure the students, parents, guardians, and community that the varsity boys' basketball season will continue despite the recent resignation of the coach due to personal reasons. Middle School basketball coaches Foster and Bielak will serve as interim coaches until the district hires new ones. We thank coaches Foster and Bielak for ensuring our boys' season continues.
