COLLECTION FOR HOMELESS VETS: As part of Military Appreciation Night at the Varsity Football game on Friday, Oct. 21, the district is collecting personal care items to benefit the Homeless Heroes Stocking Drive. Donations of shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and holders, deodorant, bar soap and holders, washcloths, gloves and socks will be collected at the Community Center gate in exchange for FREE admission to the football game. In addition, persons with a military ID will also be admitted to the game for FREE.

Requirements: The photo should be of high quality and not blurry. Please have it cropped from the waist up. Students should wear appropriate school clothes. Some requirements are, but not limited to: NO sunglasses, weapons, gang references, hand signals, or references to drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. The student should be facing the camera and be the only person in the photo (no animals). Clothing should cover the chest and torso and not have anything that implies hate towards a religion or group of people. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Gettens at email@example.com
PARKING ON PACIFIC AVE: Harrison Township has received numerous complaints about students parking on Pacific Avenue all day instead of getting a parking permit to park on school campus. As the posted parking time limit on Pacific Avenue is three hours, Harrison Township Police will begin ticketing students parked there. Any student that does not have a parking permit may apply to park on campus. Please email Dr. Burns if you need the link to the application re-sent.
AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING: After-school tutoring is available Monday-Thursday from 2:40-3:40pm. Teachers from our English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies departments will be available in room A107 to assist students in need of additional support. An activity bus is provided to transport students home. No sign-up is necessary, and students are not required to stay for the entire hour. Please encourage your children to stay if they need help.
FALL CRAFT & VENDOR SHOW: The Highlands Varsity Band Boosters are sponsoring its annual Fall Craft & Vendor Show on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 9:00am-2:00pm in the Highlands High School cafeteria and gym. Admission is $1.00. There will be a basket raffle, 50/50, food vendors, and 70+ crafters and vendors! For more information, email the Boosters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
