Highlands Heroes Employee Recognition Program
Implemented in February 2022 by Superintendent Dr. Monique Mawhinney, the Highlands Heroes Recognition Program is an opportunity for district employees to be recognized for their outstanding work ethic and efforts. Any district employee may nominate a colleague for going above and beyond for our students and community. All employees are eligible for the award, including administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, secretaries, nurses and custodial, maintenance, security, and food service workers.
Throughout the school year, employees have opportunities to nominate a colleague that is deserving of the Highlands Heroes Award. The administration reviews and considers those nominations for employees who are going above and beyond their normal work expectations to assist students, families, or the community or to improve the educational outcomes for our students.
Recipients are invited to attend that month's School Board voting meeting to be publicly recognized with a certificate of appreciation and a gift. It is important for our district and community to hear about the amazing staff members who are going above and beyond to support our students, families, and community in general and working hard to improve the educational outcomes for our students!
