    EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR: Extended School Year (ESY) are supports and services for those who qualify through special education programming. This summer, ESY will be provided through a virtual platform either through the use of Zoom or hard copies of work provided to students. ESY will begin on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 and continue on Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays through Thursday, July 30, 2020, from 8:30AM until 11:30AM. Special education teachers will be in contact with families who returned required paperwork to coordinate services.   • RESOCIALIZATION OF ATHLETICS GUIDELINES: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented all Athletic Departments with countless challenges. The Highlands School District will take the necessary precautions and recommendations from the federal, state, and local governments, CDC, Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH), as well as the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS), and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) to safeguard the participants and staff of our athletic programs. Please review the district's Resocialization of Athletics Guidelines, which were approved by the School Board on June 22, 2020.

  • HHS SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION: Highlands High School will offer Summer School beginning Monday, July 6, 2020 and ending on Friday, July 31, 2020. We will continue using our Highlands Virtual Academy and the Edgenuity platform. Register for summer school courses now through July 6 here.

  • SUMMER OPPORTUNITY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS: The Jerome Bettis Foundation is offering the youth program, "Check Inn", which is designed to connect middle school students to exciting and engaging activities centered around Tech & Innovation, Art, Video and film, Math, Spanish, Entrepreneurship and more.     EXTRA HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOKS NOW AVAILABLE: Due to overwhelming demand, there will be a limited supply of additional yearbooks available. This is your final chance to get a 2020 Aries Yearbook. There will be 25 additional yearbooks available on a first come, first serve basis. Ordering will close July 1, 2020 (unless they sell out sooner).   • CHATHAM UNIVERSITY K-12 READING PROGRAM: The university is offering a live, online reading program this summer with reduced rates for students entering grades K-12. The curriculum is high caliber and the classes are led by highly-trained teachers. Check it out the details here.

The property is located at 5591 Ridge Road in Natrona Heights. The property consists of 14.92 acres improved with a 30,000 square feet former school building.
