  • DID YOU KNOW?  Parents/Guardians - Please know that in addition to school health services, our school nurses are also able to connect you with valuable health resources within the community and surrounding areas. They can refer you to various physical, immunization, dental and mental health services based on your child's individual needs. Don't hesitate to contact your child's school nurse if you need assistance.

VISION TO LEARN SCREENINGS: Highlands School District has partnered with Vision To Learn (VTL), a national non-profit organization that provides vision services to students in support of their academic achievement. These services include a basic vision exam and, if needed, eye glasses. All of this is available at no cost to families. Click here for more info and screening dates for each school.

  • IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCT. 27: Given the COVID-19 pandemic, many children in Pennsylvania have not obtained vaccinations on the appropriate schedule and may not have had the immunizations required to enter and attend school in the fall of 2020. To enable children to enter and attend school without the required immunizations, the Pennsylvania Department of Health temporarily suspended the regulations for a two-month period after the beginning of the school year. This extended the deadline for immunization requirements for Highlands students to OCTOBER 27, 2020. Please view the flyer below for school immunization requirements by grade level. Questions should be referred to your child's school nurse.
