• Bus Assignment Guidelines

Highlands School District has three bus runs: Elementary, Middle and High School.

Riding a school bus is a privilege, not a right. The safety of your children and our students is of the utmost importance to the Highlands School District. For this reason, the following guidelines have been established.

Students who ride a bus are assigned ONE bus assignment only for commute to school and from school for the school year. A student may have a different AM bus stop pick up point than his/her PM drop-off point; however, each stop must remain the same for each day of the week except in the event of an extreme emergency or extenuating circumstance.  In order for a student to have multiple bus assignments, both parents must reside within the district and legal documentation of custody situations must be provided with the transportation form.

The district will not permit students to ride another bus other than the one(s) assigned for AM & PM at the beginning of the school year.  Requests for alternative bus transportation to and from school on a daily basis will not be honored.

Transportation questions and concerns may be directed to secretary Kim Hines, at 724-226-2400, ext. 5671 or khines@goldenrams.com.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding regarding transportation.
