Highlands Supports Breast Cancer Awareness

Highlands School District staff and students held fundraising events in October in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
 
District wide, staff donated $1,250 for the Lee National Denim Days fundraiser. Highlands Middle School raised $275 on the school-wide Pink Out day for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Highlands High School cheerleaders raised $386 by soliciting votes for staff members who volunteered to get "A Pie the Face" at the school pep rally. Ryan Yates, Sharon Conway and Jennifer Motosicky took one for the cause! At the Highlands v. Hampton varsity football game, HHS cheer squads hosted a Pink Out at the October 29 game, uniting with Hampton cheerleaders in the stands to collect a total of $3,400 for the Young Women's Breast Cancer Foundation. The Senior Night and Pink Out celebration culminated with a 31-20 win for the Golden Rams.
 
District donations for breast cancer research and awareness totaled $5,311!
