Highlands Receives H1N1 Vaccine for Students
PLEASE READ THE ANNOUNCEMENTS SECTION ON THE MAIN WEBSITE PAGE FOR THE MOST RECENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE VACCINE.
Dear Highlands Parents:
The Pennsylvania Department of Health has selected Highlands School District as an administration site for the H1N1 vaccine. We recently received the vaccine. During the week of December 7, 2009, we will administer the vaccine (by injection) to Highlands students who have submitted permission slips signed by a parent or guardian. The vaccine will be administered during the regular school day. There is no charge for this vaccine.
Letters explaining the process, information about the vaccine, and permission slips were sent home with elementary children on Wednesday, December 2. The same letter was mailed the same day to the homes of secondary students.
If you would like your child to have the vaccine, please review the information and return the signed permission slip to school as soon as possible. (If your child fails to bring home the permission slip, you can download one below or pick one up in any school office.) If the supply of vaccine is depleted during the first clinic week, it is likely that we will be able to accommodate remaining students at a later time as we anticipate that additional vaccine will be available in the near future. Please contact your school nurse with questions. Thank you.
