As part of the district's Farm to School Grant, first-grade students at Highlands Elementary participated in a hands-on lesson about planting vegetables and farming in collaboration with Blackberry Meadows Farm in Fawn Township. Farm owners Greg Boulos and Jen Montgomery discussed farming and planting with the students, providing soil, spinach seedlings, and bean seeds for them to plant in paper cups and take home to nurture. Thank you to Highlands Food Service Director Stacey Waffensmith and to Mr. Boulos and Ms. Montgomery for providing this educational visit for our students!
