CONGRATULATIONS to senior James Naviglia for his commitment to continue his academic and football career at Thiel College in Greenville, PA. The Tomcats compete in NCAA Division III of the PAC.
The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated James’ commitment on Feb. 27 with his family, coaches and teammates and friends.
A senior co-captain and 3-year Varsity Letterman of the Highlands Varsity Football Team, James was named as a WPIAL 2nd Team All-Conference Center in 2023 and 2024. He is also a Varsity Letterman in Track & Field and Wrestling. In 2022 and 2023, James was a WPIAL 2A Eastern Section Wrestling Qualifier 215lb.
James plans to study Environmental Science with a focus on environmental sustainability and environmental law. He likes the small-town feeling at Thiel College and is excited about the school’s Environmental Science Department and internship program.
His family includes parents Michael & Jennifer Naviglia and brothers Thomas (9th grade) and Seth (7th grade). Family members also in attendance at his signing were grandparents Jim & Peggy Callen, aunt Michele Naviglia, uncles Joe Naviglia and Tom Naviglia and cousin Andrew Green.
“I’m going to miss Highlands,” said James. “I have made amazing friends and developed such great bonds with teachers and coaches. R4L!”
