Highlands High School students and staff braved temps in the 20s and snow flurries as they participated in the Special Olympics PA Pittsburgh "Cool Schools" Polar Plunge on Friday, Feb. 21 at Acrisure Stadium! The Highlands "Frozen Rams" Team took the plunge in the pool of cold water to benefit Special Olympics PA and the school's Unified Bocce & Track teams.
Thank you to all who donated to the Frozen Rams Team, which raised $2,610.49 for the cause! Many thanks to Highlands Student Service Director Dr. Amber Dean for her involvement and support with Special Olympics PA and this endeavor each year, and to teachers Mrs. Amanda Coulter and Mrs. Jen Galcik for bringing some students from the Middle School and High School to cheer on the team!
