High School Donates 64 Jared Boxes for Pediatric Patients at AVH
12/18/2024

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of some of our High School students, families, staff and community members, Mrs. Kristen Lucchino's Advanced Yoga class was able to make and distribute 64 Jared Boxes to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. The Jared Box Project aims to provide children with a special box filled with toys, activities, and other items to brighten their day during hospital visits or challenging times. "These boxes will ensure that children receive the encouragement and smiles they deserve," said Mrs. Lucchino. "Each box we created carries not only gifts, but also the love and support of our school and community."
On Nov. 27, Mrs. Lucchino and the students delivered to the hospital the boxes along with cards that were created by students during the school's PBIS reward day. The cards were placed on patients' dinner trays on Thanksgiving Day. Mrs. Lucchino coordinated the delivery of items with Ms. Kelly Wooddell, Director of Volunteer Resources at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
Way to go!
