History Classes Use HMS Makerspace for 9/11 Symbolism Project
09/18/2024
In honor of Patriot Day, Mr. Mike Foster's 8th grade U.S. History classes completed a lesson on American symbols and discussed how and why those symbols represent America. They tied this discussion into the topic of September 11th. As an extension of this lesson, students went to the Middle School's Makerspace with Library Media Specialist Mrs. Jen Kosior to create symbols that represented themselves. Students created their symbols using either the Canva website or their own drawings. Then they chose from a variety of options, including sublimation coasters, laser engraved wooden plaques, ceramic coasters with vinyl, and 3D Pens to make their symbols come to life.
