CONGRATULATIONS to senior Jordyn Tavarez for his commitment to continue his academic and basketball career at California University of Pennsylvania (PennWest California). The Cal U Vulcans compete in the NCAA Division II of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated Jordyn’s commitment with his family on May 17.
A 4-year letter athlete in Varsity Basketball and Varsity Football, Jordyn has also played AAU Basketball since 5th grade. In addition to being selected for the A-K Valley Cager Classic, Jordyn was also named an Athlete of the Week and chosen as a 3rd Team All-Star for WPIAL Basketball.
At Cal U, Jordyn plans to study business with the goal of becoming an entrepreneur. He is thankful for the encouragement and support of his entire family, friends, coaches and teachers throughout his high school career.
Jordyn’s family includes mom Sarah George & stepdad Tory Morgan, dad EJ Tavarez & stepmom Kayla Tavarez, sisters Jazlyn and Eva, and grandparents Thomas & Renee George.
