Cameron Reigard Commits to North Iowa Area Community College for Academics, Basketball

CONGRATULATIONS to senior Cameron Reigard for his commitment to continue his academic and basketball career at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in Mason City, Iowa. The Trojans are Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference

The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated Cameron’s commitment with his family and friends on May 17.

Cam has achieved many accomplishments, accolades and milestones throughout his high school athletic and academic career. A 4.0 GPA scholar-athlete, Cam’s list of achievements and accomplishments include:

Cross Country (1) - Recognized as outstanding Highlands team runner

Soccer (3) - Team Captain, Team Leading Scorer, Offensive Player of the Year, Coaches Player Award

Basketball (4) - Team Captain, 1,000 Point Scorer, WPIAL Top 100, 2-time One of the Top/Leading Season Scorers in the WPIAL amongst his peers, 2-time A-K Valley All-Star, 2-time All-Section Team, 2-time Western PA Round Ball Classic All-Star

3-time Trib HSSN Athlete of the Week, 2-time A-K Valley Athlete of the Week, Positive Athlete of Western Pennsylvania 2023, Highlands All-Scholar Athlete, 2-time Highlands Tri-Athlete, A-K Valley Cager Classic All-Star West MVP, Allegheny-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame High School Athletic Honor Roll, WPIAL Playoffs & PIAA State Playoffs, Highlands High School 1,000 point Club (finished with 1,097 points), AAU Travel Basketball

Cam also enjoys working on cars, traveling (22 countries so far), spending time with family and friends, and will be a AFS Foreign Exchange Student traveling to Spain this July.

Cam is excited for the opportunity to attend NIACC. “I chose this college because I wanted to go somewhere where I would fit in academically, continue to play basketball; grow, learn and showcase my skills athletically,” he said. Cam plans to study and major in International Business and Spanish. His future goal is to be a global marketing manager and travel the world.

Cam’s family includes parents Nolan & Michelle Reigard, grandparents Richard & MaryAnn Kostewicz, uncle Roger Kostewicz, and girlfriend Nahia Megats. Unable to attend the signing was Cam’s sister, Amber Reigard of Louisville, KY (Highlands Class of 2015 and Indiana University Alum. She is pictured in the photo on the table).

"I’d like to thank my parents, grandparents, sister, coaches, teammates, my trainer Z and everyone who’s helped me along my journey to get to the point I’m at right now," said Cam.
