Jesse Maloney Commits to Penn State New Ken for Academics, Soccer
04/03/2024
CONGRATULATIONS to senior Jesse Maloney for his commitment to continue his academic and soccer career at Penn State New Kensington. The soccer team participates as a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC).
The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated Jesse’s commitment on March 20.
A Varsity Soccer 4-letter player and senior captain, Jesse’s accolades also include Highlands Varsity Soccer Play/Leadership Recognition, Steel City 04/05 Classic Player of the Year, and Steel City Player of the Game/Event on multiple occasions throughout the 2022–2024 seasons.
Jesse chose to attend Penn State New Kensington because it provides many opportunities in his field of studies and allows him to continue to play soccer at an advanced level. He plans to transfer to the University Park campus after two years to complete his degree in architectural engineering.
Jesse’s family includes his parents, Tim & Melissa Maloney, brother Ryan Maloney (10th grade) and sister Halle Maloney (8th grade). Also present for the signing was Steel City and Penn State New Kensington soccer coach Mark Duffield and Highlands athletic trainer Ang Fogel.
Congratulations and good luck, Jesse!
