03/26/2024
CONGRATULATIONS to senior Anthony Mistrik for his commitment to continue his academic and football career at Allegheny College. The Gators compete in NCAA Division III of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated Anthony’s commitment with his family and friends on March 18.
As a Varsity Football player, Anthony received an All-Conference Honorable Mention and was nominated for the Western PA Positive Athlete of the Year. He was also recently recognized by the Highlands School Board and Administration for his determination and passion as a football player on and off the field. Despite a season-ending injury, he was a leader and a dedicated teammate; never missing practice and engaging with the coaches and the team. Anthony was also involved in Team USA Hockey, and he lettered in Track & Field.
Anthony said that he chose to attend Allegheny because it is a top private D3 college where he can continue his football career under a great coaching staff. He plans to study medicine.
His family includes parents Paul & Debby Mistrik and Kim & Scott Boso, and siblings Maddie Mistrik, Brody Burchell, Sophie Burchell and Ethan Mell, Kaedance Boso and Lainy Boso (not pictured).
“I want to thank Coach Bones [Matt Bonislawski] for providing me with great opportunities and being here for me,” said Anthony. He is also grateful to Coach Beau Elliott for training him for three years at Dan’s Gym and always supporting him, and to trainer Ang Fogel for doing her best every day to keep the players healthy and helping him throughout his injury.
Congratulations and good luck, Anthony!
