Middle School Makerspace Provides Engaging Learning Opportunities
11/15/2023
The Middle School Library's new makerspace encourages students to explore, design, experiment and build! Overseen by Library Media Specialist Mrs. Jennifer Kosior, this STEAM-centered area is being used for engaging learning opportunities. Check out the photos and activities below!
Colonial America
Mr. Mike Foster's class visited the new makerspace in the Middle School Library to create toys and artifacts from Colonial America using a variety of materials from the makerspace. Students had been learning about Colonial America in Mr. Foster's class and this gave them the opportunity to have a hands-on experience related to their learning.
Computer and Library Skills
Mr. Andrew Lynch and Mrs. Jen Kosior's Computer and Library Skills class participated in a culminating activity relating to cyberbullying and the use of technological tools. Students created their own example of a problem with cyberbullying and developed a solution to that problem. Once that occurred, students programmed a Finch robot and coded the robot to move from the problem to the correct solution.
