On May 12, fifth graders Kendall Walter, Hadley Walter and Brooklyn Lemmon represented Highlands Middle School at the PMEA District 1 Elementary Sing Fest. One hundred-fifty 5th and 6th graders from schools in five southwestern Pennsylvania counties sang in the choir, which presented a public concert that evening.

The Middle School's choral director is Renee Ludwig.
