HES Girls on the Run Program Inspires Girl Empowerment
Twenty-five Highlands Elementary 3rd & 4th grade girls participated in this year's Girls on the Run, a fun, evidence-based program that inspires girl empowerment by building confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. The girls met twice a week from March through May to build confidence and learn other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running! The culminating event of the program was a 5K Race, which was held on May 22, 2022 at the Waterfront in Homestead.
