First graders in Mrs. Andrea Thompson's class learned about what makes an object float or sink. They also learned that scientists make predictions and conduct experiments to see if their predictions are correct. After a lesson about density and molecules, the students performed their own science experiment to see which types of Thanksgiving foods float or sink when dropped into water. After testing green beans, corn, turkey, cranberries and buns, they discovered that the only items that sink are the cranberries and corn!
