NHS Students Provide Treat Bags for Students, Senior Citizens
April 7, 2021
Last week, Highlands High School National Honor Society students put together Easter treat bags for the High School’s life skills and autistic support students, as well as for the residents at Platinum Ridge Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Since there was no Gold Card Easter Luncheon this year due to Covid restrictions, the NHS students came up with the idea to provide the treat bags for the senior citizens at Platinum Ridge. Little did the students know that the residents also had something special for them in return – snacks and cards with words of wisdom!
Special thanks to NHS sponsors and teachers Mrs. Jordan Murdock & Mrs. Mindy Eckenrod; Platinum Ridge activities director Mrs. Karla Langer; and teachers Mrs. Christine McLaughlin & Mrs. Faith Foster for their assistance with this service project!
