Students Creatively Celebrate National Pi Day!

On Friday, March 13, Miss Jennifer Arnold’s 7th grade math students recognized National Pi Day (3.14 or March 14) with several activities to celebrate this mathematical constant, which is the ratio of the distance around a circle to the circle's diameter – the irrational number of 3.14159265… which continues without end.

After Miss Arnold taught the students the origin and history of Pi, students participated in several creative Pi projects, including measuring circular objects, making a Happy Pi Day necklace, and designing a digit to add to the chain of irrational numbers created by math students from the past couple years. The students were also asked to tell everyone Happy Pi Day or give a High Pi(ve)!
