CONGRATULATIONS to Highlands Middle School 8th graders Jocelyn Bielak and Jocelyn Scardina for winning 3rd place in the 7/8th grade level at the Pittsburgh Hack-a-Thon, "Hack the Ram 2020", the largest one of its kind in Pennsylvania.

A STEM technology event held at Pine-Richland High School over the course of two days, teams of 4 have about 24 hours of “hacking time” to create whatever website, app, program, or robot they could imagine. The event is intended to bring like-minded grades 7-12 students together from all over the Pittsburgh area and challenges them to learn something new in the field of coding and technology.

Sponsoring the girls at the Hack-a-Thon was GATE Teacher Mrs. Rebecca Mentecky.
