CONGRATULATIONS to Highlands Middle Schooler and wrestler Aiden Burford, who won the NATIONAL TITLE in the Greco-Roman Style category and was a NATIONAL RUNNER-UP in the Freestyle category at the USA Wrestling National Championships in Wisconsin during the weekend of June 28, 2019.
He went 7-1 between the two styles, with his only match loss to the national freestyle champ. Aiden accomplished all of this despite suffering a broken wrist earlier this year and being unable to compete in the freestyle state competition. He does his Summer Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling with Bones Wrestling Club.
Aiden, who will enter 7th grade next year, is the son of Jamie Pomrenke and stepson of Grant Walters, who is also one of his coaches.
