Highlands Elementary First Grade Camp Day on May 30 featured many educational, fun activities for the students that centered around a summer camping theme, such as:
Simulated campfire with songs
Painting with marshmallows
Reading with flashlights in real tents
Measuring with mini marshmallows
Making binoculars
Snacks - walking s'mores, fishing cups
Creating bird feeders
Marshmallow toss
One of the stations included the school's mobile planetarium, where students were able to view the night sky and learn about stars.
