GATE Students Participate in Coding Competition
Highlands 4th and 5th grade gifted education (GATE) students entered the online 2-week coding competition, Code Rush, through the educational website Code Monkey.
Under the supervision of teachers Mr. Andrew Lynch (Elementary Computers) and Mrs. Rebecca Mentecky (Elementary/MS GATE), the students worked in class and at home during the competition. Although the school as a whole didn't win, the following students went the furthest in their classes: Troy Bielak & Abby Koharchik - 5th grade; and Gavin Sommers, Avery Robinson, Etta Knoerdel and Alayna Collins - 4th grade.
Congratulations to all on your efforts and achievement in STEM education!
