Ms. Megan McKenna's 7th Grade English/Language Arts class visited the HMS Makerspace for an extension project related to their most recent story. Students read about Abby Sunderland and her attempt to travel around the globe in a boat. In the Makerspace, students put their science and mathematics skills to the test to create their own boats. After the creation, library media specialist Mrs. Jennifer Kosior and the students tested the boats to determine how much weight they could hold before sinking. The students' creativity and collaboration skills made for an exciting project!
