Ms. Ayres has been a classroom teacher in
the Highlands School District since 1999.
She is a graduate of Indiana University of
Pennsylvania (IUP) and the University of
Pittsburgh (Pitt). She holds two degrees;
her first degree is a Bachelor of Science
degree in Elementary Education and her
second degree is a Masters in Elementary
Education. Also, she has three certifications
including Early Childhood Education, Elementary
Education and Reading Specialization.
For the first ten years of her career at Highlands
School District, she taught full day Kindergarten.
In 2010, she transferred to the Pre-K Counts
grant and is currently a lead teacher in the program.
Before teaching at Highlands School District,
Ms. Ayres worked as a substitute teacher in
several school districts and was a teaching/graduate
assistant in the School of Education at the
University of Pittsburgh.
