Welcome! My name is Kelly Garner-Hirtz, though I have the students just call me Mrs. Garner.
Educational and Professional Background:
I received my BSEd, majoring in Special Education, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2004. In 2009, I received my Masters degree in Teaching and Curriculum from Penn State University. Before beginning in the Highlands School District, I worked for Pressley Ridge Day School as a special education teacher and mental health specialist for students with severe emotional disturbance. I was hired at Highlands School District in 2007 and have worked in both the primary and middle school levels as a special education teacher. My current position is the kindergarten level special education teacher at Highlands Early Childhood Center.
