Local author Tamara Girardi made a special visit to the Highlands Early Childhood Center Library on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to read her best-selling book, Why, Daddy? Why?, to the Kindergarten students.
Released in May 2022, her book was quickly named one of the best books of the year by Amazon. Inspired by Girardi's own experience with her young daughter, Gabriella, the story is about how a cuddly papa bear uses his cub’s naturally inquisitive nature to show the many forms of his love.
After reading the book, Girardi answered questions from the students, who were excited about receiving their very own autographed copy of Why, Daddy? Why? to take home! The purchase of the books was made possible through the school's Title I grant.
Girardi’s visit was coordinated by HECC/HES Librarian Mrs. Laurie Malcolm and Principal Mrs. Kristie Gizienski.
Why, Daddy? Why? is available on Amazon, where it’s listed as an Editor’s Pick for best books for kids up to age 2. Also an author of young adult fiction, Girardi is the author of the Iron Valley Sports Series, which includes Gridiron Girl, Disorder on the Court, Ultimate Takedown and Shot Through the Heart.
