Veterans Share Stories with Students
In keeping with a long-standing tradition, Highlands High School invited and welcomed veterans to speak to over 800 Highlands High School students in grades 9-12 on Friday, November 9, 2018.
Coordinated by teacher Mrs. Michelle Dickerson and fellow social studies department teachers, Mr. Tyler Stoczynski, Mr. Tyler Kirin, Mr. Todd Bengel, and Mr. Jordan Thompson, students had an opportunity to hear stories from Vietnam War veteran and Har-Brack alum Mr. William Fischer, Persian Gulf War veteran Mr. Michael Richards, and active duty veteran Sgt. Brandy Orris, both Highlands alumni. The veterans spoke about their experiences serving our nation and also took the time to answer questions from students.
Thank you to Mr. Fischer, Mr. Richards, Sgt. Orris and to all of our veterans for your service to our country!
