11/13/2023

CONGRATULATIONS to senior Annamarie Williams, who signed her Letter of Intent to continue her academic and soccer career at the University of Virginia. The Virginia Cavaliers compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) of NCAA Division I women's college soccer.

The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated Annamarie’s signing with her family and friends on Nov. 10.

Annamarie was a part of the U.S. Soccer Youth National Team ID Centers and was selected three times to the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) First Team. She was also a three-time ECNL Conference Champion, the 2013 Academy Player of the Year at the Riverhounds, and the Youth National Futsal Team Captain.

“I chose the University of Virginia for its amazing academics, elite soccer program, the team atmosphere, the coaching staff and the diversity,” said Annamarie, who plans to study biology or neuroscience. She also hopes to play pro soccer.

Annamarie’s family includes her mom, Michele Williams & step-dad Bill Vakulick, and dad, David Williams & step-mom Samantha Perlik. Also in attendance at her signing were her grandma Helen Williams, HS science teacher Katie Stack, her club soccer coach David Flavius and several friends. "Wahoowa - Go Hoos!"

Congratulations, Annamarie!
