Highlands Middle School Moves to Remote Learning Starting Nov. 16 through Thanksgiving Break
Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020
Highlands Middle School Families,
Due to the number of recent positive COVID cases of both students and staff reported to Middle School administration over the weekend, out of an abundance of caution, Middle School students only will move to full remote instruction starting Monday, November 16 through the Thanksgiving break, and return to the hybrid instructional model on Tuesday December 1, 2020. All after school activities will be cancelled during this time.
The district has made this decision out of an abundance of caution in hopes to minimize the potential for increased exposure at our middle school. The health and safety of our students and staff continue to be our greatest priority, which is the reason for these proactive measures.
Students are expected to participate virtually each day by logging into each class. Attendance will be taken as normal and is mandatory during this building closure.
This temporary building closure and full remote learning plan affect our Middle School students only. All other buildings will operate as normal.
Please note: The Middle School picture days and shelter-in-place drills will be rescheduled for a later date.
