School Board Reorganizes; Elected Members Sworn In
Five elected Highlands School Board members were officially sworn in at the December 3, 2019 Highlands School Board Reorganization Meeting. District Magistrate Carolyn S. Bengel administered the oath of office to returning member Judy Wisner and first-time board members Gene Witt, Laura Butler, Kelli Canonge and Kristie Babinsack.
Officers elected for the 2020 year are Misty Chybrzynski, President; Bobbie Neese, Vice President; and Laura Butler, Treasurer. The PSBA Liaison is Kelli Canonge, and the Forbes Road CTC Representative and Alternate are Laura Butler and Debbie Beale, respectively.
The School Board Meeting dates, times and location for 2020 remain unchanged. They will continue to be held the second Monday of the month at 7:00pm for the Agenda Planning Meeting and the third Monday of the month at 7:00pm for the Regular Voting Meeting. Both meetings will be held in the Highlands High School Library. There are no meetings in July. Any changes to the meeting schedule will be advertised in the local paper and posted on the district website. The public is welcome to attend the meetings. Meeting agendas and minutes are posted on the district's website through BoardDocs.

Highlands School Board members finishing their terms were Michael Masarik, Michelle Peters, Jeff Mundy and Heath Cohen. They were recognized for their dedication and service to the district by Highlands Superintendent Dr. Monique Mawhinney at the November 18, 2019 School Board Meeting.
