Highlands grades 1-6 families had the opportunity to experience innovative educational technology tools at the first-ever Remake Learning Technology Showcase on May 9 at Highlands Elementary School. The event focused on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) learning experiences and provided hands-on, interactive stations.
Technology Tools utilized were:
Happy Atoms - chemistry and the periodic table
Osmo - spelling, math, coding
Makey Makey - circuits
Google Expeditions - virtual reality, augmented reality, merge cube
BeeBots - coding
CoSpacesEdu - virtual reality, coding
Highlands gifted education (GATE) students demonstrated each of the above tools that are utilized in the classroom. The event was coordinated by GATE teacher Mrs. Rebecca Mentecky and elementary computer teacher Mr. Andrew Lynch.
