The comprehensive planning process for school districts is an on-going practice whose primary goal is to ensure student success. Districts are on a three-year cycle. By involving multiple stakeholders, the process has additional benefits of increased communication and teamwork and improved efficiency and effectiveness. Not only does a comprehensive plan help to solidify agreement around intended outcomes, it also helps to shape and guide the district’s vision in response to a changing environment.
