2025 Homecoming Dance Policies

The Highlands High School Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 7-10pm at the High School.  All high school students are welcome to attend.  Please read below for important information regarding the Homecoming Dance.
 
Tickets
Tickets are $15 per person and will be sold in person at the high school.  Tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 15.  Tickets will be sold in person at the high school during all lunch periods in the cafeteria and after school in Room A102 (Ms. Wagner).  All students must purchase their own tickets in person!  (If you wish to buy a ticket for a friend or date, please make arrangements in advance to purchase tickets at the same time.)
 
General Policies
The following policies are in effect for the Homecoming Dance:
  • All students must purchase a ticket to attend. No tickets will be sold at the door.
  • The dance is from 7-10pm.  Doors open at 6:45pm.
  • All students will pass through security upon arrival and must pass a breathalyzer test. 
  • There is a strict bag policy - all bags must be smaller than 12in x 6in x 12in. No backpacks or large bags will be permitted.
  • Students who wish to leave before 10pm must exit through the office.  Parent contact must be made before students will be allowed to leave early, and all students must sign out in the office.
  • There will be NO RE-ENTRY.
  • Students must be in good standing academically, behaviorally, and with regards to their attendance to be eligible to attend the dance.  (See below for more info.)
All students will be required to read and agree to these policies at the time of ticket purchase.
 
Good Standing
Students who wish to attend the Homecoming Dance must be in good standing academically, behaviorally, and with their attendance. The following criteria must be met by each student to attend the dance:
  • Must not be failing 2 or more core courses (math, ELA, history, science) and/or 2 or more elective courses
  • Must have no outstanding detentions/ASA 
  • Must have no more than 1 major/3 minor behavior referrals including no suspensions
  • Must have no more than 2 unexcused absences and/or no more than 4 unexcused tardies to school for the school year
Eligibility will be determined on Thursday, October 16.  Any student who has purchased a ticket but is found to be ineligible to attend will be notified on October 17.
 
Outside Guests
Students who wish to bring a guest from outside of Highlands School District are permitted to do so, provided that the guest is under 21 years of age and in at least 9th grade.  Students wishing to bring an outside guest MUST complete an outside guest form NO LATER than October 14.  Forms will be available in the main office of the High School beginning Monday, September 29.  All forms must be reviewed and approved by the school police officer, Officer Guerich before students will be allowed to purchase tickets for their outside guests. No forms will be accepted after October 14.
