Real-World Retail Career Connections

Students in Mr. Zac Wells’ business education classes recently had the valuable opportunity to hear from Brooke Welling, a corporate buyer at DICK’S Sporting Goods.

Brooke (second from left) shared her experience working in the retail industry and gave students an inside look at what a career as a corporate buyer is really like. She discussed college majors and courses to consider, part-time jobs that can help students gain valuable experience, and the skills employers look for when hiring.

This was a great way for students to connect classroom learning to a real-world career with one of the Pittsburgh region’s most recognizable companies. A huge thank you to Brooke for sharing her experience and advice with our students!
