HES students enjoy the "biggest math party around"!

Mega Math at HES

Highlands Elementary students in grades 1–4 took part in the annual Mega Math Festivala one‑day event focused on exploring math through fun, hands‑on puzzles and games.

With support from the High School's National Honor Society volunteers, students worked together to solve challenges donated by the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival, emphasizing play, confidence and inclusion. The experience allowed elementary students to learn alongside high school role models while discovering that math can be enjoyable for everyone.

The festival reinforces an important message: there is no such thing as a “math person". Through collaboration and exploration, students built positive math experiences in an engaging, exciting environment.

Special thanks to High School NHS sponsor Mrs. Jordan Murdock, NHS students and elementary school MTSS teachers Mrs. Nicole Baker, Mrs. Emily DiMascio, Mrs. Chris Izydore and Mrs. Megan Zendarski for coordinating and facilitating a "mega fun" day for the students!
