Javeon Chambers Commits to Point Park for Academics, Wrestling

CONGRATULATIONS to senior Javeon Chambers for his commitment to continue his academic and wrestling career at Point Park University. The Pioneers compete in NCAA Division II in the Mountain East Conference (MEC).

The Highlands Athletic Department celebrated Javeon’s commitment on May 7 with his parents, Shawna & Jamal Chambers, brothers Jamal and Mikee, and sisters LaLa, Kyila and Myi-Myi. Also in attendance at his signing were his pap, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, wrestling coaches, football coaches and teammates.

Javeon is the winningest wrestler in Highlands history, finishing with an amazing career record of 159 wins, 34 losses! His accomplishments include:

 
           3-time WPIAL Medalist
           4-time County Medalist
           3-time Regional Medalist
           4-time Sectional Medalist
           2-time Bo Wood Champion
           PIAA Medalist
           ACCA Sportsmanship Award Winner
 
He was also nominated by his wrestling coaches for a certificate of recognition from the Highlands School Board for his hard work and dedication as a student-athlete. Javeon is also a member of the National Honor Society and enjoys Honors Physics and Honors Biology classes.
 
Javeon plans to major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Photography at Point Park. Congratulations and best of luck, “Tum Tum”!
