Congratulations to the 30 Highlands High School juniors and sophomores who were inducted into the National Honor Society during a candlelight ceremony on Tuesday, May 26!

NHS Secretary Alexis Arms led the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance, and Highlands Superintendent Dr. Monique Mawhinney gave the welcome remarks. NHS President Lyla Vivirito introduced the guest speaker, HHS Spanish Teacher, Señora Laura Proaño.

Four NHS Officers spoke about the pillars of National Honor Society membership:

CHARACTER - Co-Treasurer Mallory Zendarski
LEADERSHIP - Secretary Alexis Arms

Lyla Vivirito announced the names of each inductee, who then came forward to light a candle and stand on the stage. After all the inductees were in place, NHS Sponsor Mrs. Jordan Murdock administered the NHS Oath. The ceremony concluded with congratulatory remarks from HHS Principal Mr. Patrick Baughman and closing remarks from Lyla Vivirito.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this ceremony so special and meaningful!
