Traditions & Transitions
Dear Highlands Family,
Welcome to the start of a new year at Highlands – a year that will celebrate long-time traditions while creating new ones. This year presents a variety of changes for our families, our schools and our teachers, administrators and staff. We are confident that this year will follow the traditions of years past in being a successful, fun and exciting time for our students.
The Highlands team of faculty, administrators and support staff has been busily planning and preparing for these changes. While this year’s reorganization plan may have been forced with the outstanding cuts to the Highlands budget as a result of decisions at the State level, we are certain these are the best options available to help us better prepare and plan for the financial security and overall well-being of the students, staff and district community.
We ask that you join us in a united effort to move our district into the future and to establish traditions during this transition that will define a new generation at Highlands. Our focus continues to be to properly educate and prepare students for the world beyond our schools, despite any change or challenge presented to us.
Significant changes to any situation can be stressful, foreboding and worrisome. But if we keep our focus and work together as the strong community we always have been, we will be able to strive and succeed during this initial year of change for Highlands.
