Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

PTO meetings are held throughout the school year.  Meeting dates and times are announced at the beginning of the school year.  These meetings are open to all parents/guardians of Grandview Upper Elementary School students. Some PTO committees include the following:  Assemblies, Book Fair, Field Trips, Fundraiser, Newsletter, Santa Shop, School Picnic, Special Functions, Teacher Appreciation, PSSA Breakfast, and Yearbook.

PTO Fundraisers

The Highlands School District does not automatically set aside money for special fieldtrips or assembly programs for each of its schools.  All these extra learning activities are paid for through the PTOs fundraisers.  Since each assembly often costs $500 per session and fieldtrips can cost thousands of dollars, raising money is very important to the total educational experience for students at Grandview Upper Elementary School.  Since every child in the school benefits from the programs and fieldtrips that are planned each year, all students and families are strongly urged to participate in the fundraisers.
